Tina Turner of Relax Max Massage Center LLC, won this months Entrepreneurs’ Cafe. She is the recipient of a 300 dollar cash prize and will also receive marketing and business consulting services donated by local businesses. Tina will use the cash to purchase better signage for her downtown center. She provides a variety of natural healing and massage services, from deep tissue, Swedish, stone, and aromatherapy.

Over 50 people attended the Holiday Entrepreneurs’ Cafe lunch at Savannah’s Restaurant.

Presenters:
Toni Karle of The Red Door – The Red Door will be an intimate gathering place for the community for people to rent.
Tina Mae Turner of The Relaxmax Massage Center - The Relaxmax Massage Center is a massage therapy and wellness center.
Pam Cabell of Outside the Box – Outside the Box is a small bakery specializing in cupcakes, birthday and personal cakes, and wedding cakes.
Amy Ward of A.Connexion LLC – A. Connexion, LLC has developed etromay, a mobile app that lists businesses and events in downtown Huntington.

Create WV Pitch Your Idea Contest

Do you have an idea that deserves attention? Enter the Create WV Pitch Your Idea Contest and you could win up to $2,500 to launch your business, community or school idea!

The Create WV 2012 Conference is being held in Charleston, WV, October 26-27, 2012. Create WV is the state’s largest gathering of creative, innovative people in business, community development, education and the arts. It’s the place to get inspired, develop your ideas, and find resources and support to launch them!

The first statewide “crowd funding” contest is being held so that the best ideas from around the state get much-needed exposure and a little “kick start” funding to get them moving.

Ten presenters in each category – business/social entrepreneurship, communities and schools – will be selected from those who submit this simple idea submission form. If you are one of the top ten chosen, you will be invited to present your idea for seed capital funding up to $2,500*!

Hurry! Deadline for submitting your idea overview is October 5, 2012. The ten semi-finalists will be notified by October 12 and be invited to present to a panel of judges on October 27, 2012, in Charleston. The finalists will also be offered FREE expert mentoring during Friday, October 26, to sharpen their pitch if they decide to attend the Create WV 2012 Conference.

September Entrepreneurs’ Cafe in Barboursville

The September Entrepreneurs’ Cafe will be hosted by The Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites in Barboursville.

Modeled on the CAFE Huntington dinners, this event will give local entrepreneurs a chance to pitch their ideas to a group. The group decides who has the best idea. The winner receives a cash prize plus business services donated by local businesses.

Lunch is $15. $5 goes to the restaurant and $10 goes to the winner. You may prepay with a credit card, a $1 processing fee will be added. You can pay at the door with either cash or a check. To sign up as an audience member click the link below.
