Would you like to be part of building the local economy? Modeled on the CAFE’ Huntington dinners and coordinated by Unlimited Future, Inc., the Entrepreneurs’ Cafe will give local entrepreneurs a chance to get the exposure they need.
The Entrepreneurs’ Cafe lunches will provide micro grants to entrepreneurs in the Huntington, WV area. On the third Wednesday of each month Unlimited Future, Inc. will hold a lunch at an area restaurant or other location. For the current location click here.
The price for the event will be $15 per person. $10 of that will go into a common fund and will be awarded to the winning entrepreneur at each event. $5 of the price will go to the sponsoring restaurant. During the meal the entrepreneurs seeking the grants present their business or business idea. Everyone who bought lunch gets to vote on their favorite business/business idea. The entrepreneur with the most votes wins. (So if 30 people show up to vote then the winning project will receive $300!)
Presenters will come from local entrepreneurs who are hoping to start/grow a business. It will be the responsibility of each entrepreneur to “sell” their business idea to the group. Presenters will be encouraged to identify a business need that would be filled by the award. The number of projects will be limited to three at ten minutes each to allow for a one hour meeting.
As a sponsor you can donate money or services to help make the Entrepreneurs’ Cafe events a success. Sponsors commit to a minimum donation of $500 per year or business services for 12 winners. All sponsors are listed on the website, on the Entrepreneurs’ Cafe Facebook page, in press releases, and all other marketing for the events.
Your donation will be used to:
- Make sure each winner receives at least $300, even if less than 30 people attend.
- Create a pot of money for an end of the year grand champion.
- Promote and coordinate the lunches.
If you choose to donate services, then each month’s winner will receive your business services in addition to the cash prize.
